Experts in cybersecurity have identified a new malware named SparkCat, which is capable of stealing cryptocurrencies from applications available on the App Store and Google Play. This malware can compromise millions of Android phones in India, posing risks to users' financial and personal information. Reports indicate that the SparkCat trojan has been downloaded approximately 242,000 times since its appearance in March 2024. The malware operates by scanning device photos for personal details, making it particularly dangerous as users may unknowingly download infected applications. Security specialists from Kaspersky have raised alarms about this threat, urging users to remain vigilant against potential scams and cyberattacks.
