Fidelity Investments, a $5.4 trillion asset manager and crypto ETF issuer, has confirmed a data breach that compromised the personal information of over 77,000 customers. The breach, which occurred in August, exposed sensitive data including Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, and other personal information. Fidelity has begun notifying affected customers by mail. The breach highlights vulnerabilities even within major financial institutions.
