Multiple cyberattacks have recently targeted major U.S. companies, raising concerns about data security. The hacking group Play claims to have breached Microchip Technology, allegedly accessing private and confidential information, including client documents, budgets, payroll, and accounting records. Another group, Hunters International, has reportedly breached Crowe LLP, a company with $1.3 billion in revenue that provides audit, tax, and advisory services. In addition, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has faced another data breach, with sensitive employee information compromised. Criminal groups IntelBroker and EnergyWeaponUser are reportedly selling the stolen data online, following a similar breach that occurred in June 2024. The Hunters International group is also threatening to leak 386 GB of data from the U.S. Marshals Service, which disputes the claims of a breach. These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges of cybersecurity for large organizations.
