The FBI and cybersecurity firm Mandiant successfully apprehended hacker Jesse Kipf, who sold access to compromised systems and manipulated Hawaii's death registration system to fake his own death, according to TechCrunch. In a separate incident, a hacker exploited Microsoft Office 365 emails to execute a hack-to-trade attack, resulting in over $3 million in illicit gains, as reported by Forbes. The SEC has been investigating this case. Additionally, newly published research from Check Point Software revealed a phishing campaign using 5,000 fake Microsoft notifications.
