A surge in online impersonation and account hacking incidents has been reported across various platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Telegram. Multiple individuals and organizations, including CoinMarketCap, Ash Crypto, and others, have warned users about scammers impersonating them to solicit funds or promote fraudulent activities. Notable cases include the hacking of the X account of Loopifyyy, now controlled by a hacker after a phishing email incident, and impersonation attempts targeting users such as HODL15Capital and Julie Chang. Ash Crypto has announced plans to verify personal accounts of its managing partners to combat impersonation. Victims are urging users to verify accounts, avoid engaging with suspicious messages, and report fake accounts to prevent further scams.
