
Multiple ransomware groups have claimed responsibility for a series of cyberattacks affecting various organizations across the globe. The Clop ransomware group has exploited vulnerabilities in Cleo-managed file transfer platforms, specifically targeting Harmony, VLTrader, and LexiCom. In Brazil, the Fog ransomware group breached Ouro Verde, exfiltrating 4 GB of sensitive data, while the Akira group targeted A GERADORA, allegedly stealing 130 GB of data. Portugal's Município de Chaves was also compromised by the Qilin ransomware group. In Australia, the RansomHub group breached MediSecure, exfiltrating 1.9 TB of data with a ransom deadline set for December 25, 2024. The BlackBasta group has claimed attacks on two German companies, Medion and Bender, stealing 1.5 TB and 1.1 TB of data, respectively, with a similar ransom deadline of December 25, 2024. In the U.S., the Cactus ransomware group targeted MassDevelopment, exfiltrating 1.2 TB of sensitive information. Additionally, the Bashe hacking group breached Indonesia's Bank BRI, while the Hunters International group attacked multiple entities, including the Development Bank of Jamaica and MicroVision in the U.S. Reports indicate that these attacks are part of a broader trend of increasing cyber threats, with organizations urged to enhance their cybersecurity measures.
