Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is recovering from food poisoning that caused intestinal inflammation and dehydration, his office said on Sunday. The 75-year-old leader was examined at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital overnight, where he received intravenous fluids before being discharged. Doctors instructed Netanyahu to rest at home for the next three days. While he will continue to conduct government business remotely, Sunday’s cabinet meeting was cancelled and court sessions in his corruption trial scheduled for Monday and Tuesday have been postponed, according to state broadcasters. The episode is the latest in a series of recent health issues for the prime minister. Netanyahu was fitted with a pacemaker in 2023 and underwent prostate surgery last December, though he has repeatedly said he is fit to serve.
