The Japanese yen has continued its decline against the US dollar, reaching new lows not seen in about a month. The exchange rate dropped to 145.34 yen per dollar during the trading session on May 8, 2025, and briefly touched 146 yen per dollar on May 9. Tokyo trading saw the yen fluctuate within the 145 yen range, moving from the upper 145 yen level to the lower 145 yen level on May 9. This movement contrasts with the earlier foreign exchange assumption of 140 yen per dollar by IHI.
