
Japanese Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet has expanded its Bitcoin holdings with the acquisition of 150 BTC for approximately $12.6 million, bringing its total holdings to 3,350 BTC. The purchase was made at an average price of $83,801 per Bitcoin, with Bitcoin's price currently at $88,000. Metaplanet, which aims to accumulate 10,000 BTC by 2025 and 21,000 BTC by 2026, is now the 10th largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally. The company’s Bitcoin holdings are valued at over $290 million, equivalent to 42.216 billion yen. Its BTC yield has reached 68.3%, reflecting strong performance. The company has launched a strategic initiative, the '21 Million Plan,' utilizing zero-coupon bonds and equity capital raises to fund its Bitcoin acquisitions. Metaplanet's goal is to eventually own 1% of Bitcoin's total supply. Its stock price has recently risen to 5,060 yen. Recent developments include the appointment of Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, to Metaplanet's Strategic Board of Advisors. His expertise in finance and brand development is expected to bolster the company's efforts in driving Bitcoin adoption.
