Seven Chinese nationals were arrested in Japan for their involvement in fraudulent purchases of Apple laptops. The arrests were confirmed by local authorities on January 8, 2025. In a separate incident, a former AT&T employee was apprehended for allegedly adding unauthorized phone and tablet lines to customer accounts to receive commission. Reports indicate that this employee accessed customer accounts without permission. Additionally, Apple has reportedly terminated several employees of Indian origin in the U.S. over alleged misuse of its charity matching grants program, with the FBI investigating potential fund misappropriation. In December 2024, six former Apple employees were charged for exploiting the same charity program, and it is believed that as many as 50 employees may have been involved in this fraudulent activity, resulting in losses of approximately $152,000.
