TSMC Accelerates Arizona Fabs After Posting Record Quarterly Profit

Demand tied to AI applications drove the gains, enabling the company to raise its full-year outlook while keeping planned capital spending at US$38-42 billion. Wei also confirmed that construction of a second fab in Kumamoto, Japan will begin later this year, dismissing concerns that the expanded U.S. program might delay the Japanese project. The company continues to expand globally as clients seek geographically diversified supply for advanced semiconductors.
