The Kenya Revenue Authority collected KES 2.571 trillion in the 2024/25 fiscal year, exceeding its target of KES 2.555 trillion and achieving a 100.6 percent performance rate. The out-turn represents a 6.8 percent increase on the previous year’s KES 2.407 trillion. Exchequer revenue rose 4.5 percent year-on-year to KES 2.323 trillion, meeting 99 percent of its goal, while collections made on behalf of other government agencies jumped 31.1 percent to KES 248.3 billion, or 119.5 percent of target. Domestic taxes contributed KES 1.688 trillion, up 4.8 percent, and customs revenue advanced 11.1 percent to KES 879.3 billion. KRA attributed the performance to a 4.7 percent expansion in gross domestic product, supported by stronger growth in agriculture, financial services, transport and real estate. A firmer shilling, lower inflation and a 12.5 percent drop in international oil prices also helped offset weaker import growth and lower export values in the first half of the year.
