The United States and South Korea wrapped up bilateral talks on 25 August with both sides characterising the meeting as cordial and largely free of disagreements, according to statements from South Korean officials, including Foreign Minister Kang. President Lee’s office said the session with U.S. President Donald Trump served mainly to strengthen personal rapport rather than to negotiate specific trade provisions. Agriculture and other potentially contentious sectors were not addressed, the office added.
