The T3 Financial Crime Unit, a collaborative initiative founded by TRON, Tether, and TRM Labs, has launched an expanded program called T3+. This global collaborator program aims to enhance cooperation across the blockchain industry to combat illicit activity in real time. Since its inception, the T3 Financial Crime Unit has frozen over $250 million in criminal assets worldwide. Binance has become the first official member of T3+, marking a significant step in industry-wide collaboration against blockchain-based financial crimes. In their first joint operation, T3+ and Binance successfully froze nearly $6 million linked to a scam case. The initiative represents a public-private partnership involving industry players and law enforcement agencies to strengthen efforts against crypto crime. Separately, law enforcement agencies in the US and Canada, with support from blockchain analytics firms, have prevented over $74 million in crypto fraud, identifying more than 2,000 fraud-linked wallets across 14 countries. Additionally, authorities in the Czech Republic arrested darknet founder Tomas Jirikovsky in connection with a $45 million Bitcoin bribery scandal, and Texas officials seized $2.8 million in cryptocurrency from Ianis Aleksandrovich Antropenko, accused of ransomware-related extortion.
