Citadel Securities reported its largest ever trading revenue in 2024, reaching $9.7 billion, a 55% increase from the previous year. This performance allowed the firm to surpass the trading revenue of some of Europe's biggest banks, including Barclays, positioning it among the world's leading trading entities. Robinhood Markets Inc. announced a series of promotions for its Gold subscription service, including exclusive offers every Friday in March leading up to the second annual Gold event scheduled for March 26. The company's Gold subscription service is generating $15.5 million in monthly recurring revenue. Robinhood is among several companies, including AppLovin, Coinbase, and others, considered for potential inclusion in the S&P 500 index. An announcement regarding the index's composition is expected after the market closes. AppLovin, which saw its stock surge by 700% in 2024, pushing its market cap past $110 billion, faces opposition from short-seller Fuzzy Panda Research. The firm has urged the S&P Index Committee to exclude AppLovin from the index due to allegations of fraudulent ad-tech practices, including data theft and the exploitation of laws protecting children. AppLovin's AXON 2.0 software, released in 2023, has been at the center of these allegations. Despite an earnings beat earlier in February that sent the stock up 34% in two days, AppLovin's shares have since dropped nearly 50%. Analysts at BTIG and Piper have maintained buy ratings on AppLovin, dismissing the allegations as having little merit.
