Aleksei Andriunin, the founder of the cryptocurrency financial services firm Gotbit, has been indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for alleged market manipulation and wire fraud. The DOJ indictment also charges two of Gotbit's directors, Fedor Kedrov and Qawi Jalili. Andriunin, aged 26, is accused of running a scheme to pump client tokens, potentially earning 'tens of millions' through fraudulent activities. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison. This indictment follows an investigation by the FBI Boston office.
