Elon Musk's social media company X, formerly known as Twitter, has reached a tentative settlement to resolve a $500 million class-action lawsuit filed by thousands of former employees. The lawsuit alleged that the layoffs following Musk's 2022 takeover of Twitter, which resulted in nearly 60% of the staff being cut, lacked the required severance pay and proper notice. Approximately 6,000 ex-employees were reportedly owed more than $500 million collectively. Separately, the U.S. Justice Department announced that Kimberly-Clark Corporation will pay up to $40 million to settle criminal charges related to the sale of contaminated MicroCool surgical gowns. Additionally, Delta Air Lines agreed to pay $78.75 million to resolve a class-action lawsuit stemming from a 2020 fuel dump incident that affected tens of thousands of properties, including homes and schools, in Los Angeles and Orange counties, California.
