The Ethereum Foundation has contributed $500,000 toward the legal defense of Roman Storm, a co-founder of the crypto privacy protocol Tornado Cash, according to multiple statements issued on 13–14 June. In addition to the initial donation, the foundation said it will match community contributions up to $750,000, bringing potential support for Storm’s defense to as much as $1.25 million. The funding arrives ahead of Storm’s trial, which is scheduled to begin in July.
