Jury selection has concluded in the trial of Roman Storm, co-founder of the cryptocurrency platform Tornado Cash, in the Southern District of New York. The trial, regarded as a landmark case for cryptography and open-source privacy software, began with opening statements on July 15, 2025. The government alleges that Storm knowingly facilitated money laundering through the platform. The Manhattan jury consists of 12 members and 4 alternates.
