According to a Fox News report, Gensler may step down voluntarily before his term expires in 2026, potentially ahead of the incoming administration's inauguration. Multiple sources suggest that names such as Dan Gallagher, Bob Stebbins, Paul Atkins, and Brad Bondi are being mentioned as possible replacements.
