Cryptocurrency trading account AguilaTrades placed a short limit order for 29,000 Ether, valued at roughly $122 million, in the $4,200-to-$4,240 price range on 11 Aug 2025, according to on-chain data trackers. Within minutes of execution, Ether rose more than $50 from the trader’s entry point, prompting AguilaTrades to cover 26,187 ETH—about $112 million—and crystallise a loss of approximately $1.86 million after less than ten minutes. The reversal extends a run of unsuccessful bearish bets by the same account, which has recorded about $2.76 million in aggregate losses on Ether shorts over the past two days, underscoring persistent upward pressure in the market for the second-largest cryptocurrency.
