A large unidentified cryptocurrency whale has been actively accumulating Ethereum (ETH) over the past two months, acquiring a total of 312,052 ETH valued at approximately $1.34 billion. This accumulation involved purchases from major crypto firms including Galaxy Digital, FalconX, and BitGo, spread across 10 newly created wallets. The whale's holdings now total around 221,166 ETH worth $940.73 million across six wallets, with recent single-day purchases reaching up to 49,533 ETH valued at over $210 million. Concurrently, another early Ethereum ICO participant has been moving significant amounts of ETH, including selling 2,300 ETH ($9.91 million) and depositing 2,000 ETH ($8.55 million) to Kraken, still holding 58,000 ETH worth $247.9 million. In parallel, a prominent trader known as AguilaTrades has been actively shorting ETH with 15x leverage, placing short orders worth over $120 million multiple times but has incurred losses exceeding $3.7 million from these positions. Recently, AguilaTrades flipped to a long position of 10,000 ETH valued at $43.3 million and increased this to 15,000 ETH as ETH prices rose above $4,300. Additionally, another whale withdrew 10,019 AAVE tokens worth $2.97 million and 1,000.58 PAXG worth $3.35 million from Binance after four months of inactivity. There was also a notable purchase of 500 BTC valued at $59.53 million. These large-scale movements and acquisitions by whales and traders indicate heightened activity and interest in the cryptocurrency market, especially in Ethereum and Bitcoin.
