Stablecoin liquidity and usage across multiple blockchain networks have reached new highs, reflecting rapid growth and adoption in the decentralized finance sector. On the Linea Layer 2 (L2) network, stablecoin liquidity surged by more than 437% in the past three weeks, hitting a record $129 million and positioning Linea as the seventh largest Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) L2, narrowing the gap with Celo at $166 million and Optimism at $560 million. Overall, L2s now process over 250 transactions per second (TPS), significantly outpacing Ethereum's approximate 15 TPS, with total value locked (TVL) across rollups exceeding $20 billion. The Base network has reached $9 billion TVL without launching a native token. On Arbitrum, stablecoin supply increased by 10% in 30 days to a new all-time high of $8.88 billion, marking a 94% increase over the past year. USDC, a leading stablecoin managed by Circle, experienced a roughly 300% increase in usage on Ethereum since January 2024, with July monthly transfer volume reaching $748.3 billion and 8.3 million transfers. Monthly USDC senders are near all-time highs at approximately 9.4 million, with Solana hosting the largest number of monthly USDC senders at around 3.3 million. Stablecoins are widely distributed across many chains, but only three—Tron, Solana, and Ethereum—have more than $10 billion in natively minted stablecoins. Monthly stablecoin senders across all chains have reached an all-time high of about 23.7 million. Tether's USDT recorded $1.24 trillion in on-chain transfer volume in July, with Aptos emerging as the third largest USDT transport layer after Tron and Ethereum. These trends underscore the growing role of stablecoins as a geopolitical and financial force within the blockchain ecosystem.
