World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin, inspired by President Donald J. Trump, has integrated with Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), enabling the stablecoin to operate across multiple blockchains. The integration, announced at Consensus 2025 in Toronto, initially supports Ethereum and BNB Chain, with plans for further blockchain integrations. This move aims to address cross-chain security concerns and expand the reach of USD1, which has reached a $2.2 billion market capitalization since its launch. The collaboration between World Liberty Financial and Chainlink builds on their previous integration of Chainlink's price oracles for World Liberty's Aave v3 instance. USD1, backed by short-term U.S. government treasuries, U.S. dollar deposits, and other cash equivalents held by BitGo Trust Company, regulated by the South Dakota Division of Banking, is designed to facilitate cross-border payments and enhance its utility across decentralized and traditional finance ecosystems. The integration of Chainlink CCIP into USD1's operations, leveraging Chainlink's resilient oracle infrastructure which has enabled over $20 trillion in transaction value, is seen as a critical step in merging traditional finance with decentralized finance, according to World Liberty co-founder Zak Folkman. The move is expected to accelerate the adoption of USD1 and bring real utility to users worldwide by allowing seamless transfers across different blockchain networks, supported by an independent Risk Management Network.
