Pumpdotfun, a Solana-based memecoin launchpad, experienced a sharp decline in revenue from $7 million in January 2025 to $307 daily by August 2025, losing its leading position to Bonkfun. Bonkfun surged ahead with a 24-hour trading volume exceeding $100 million, representing a 600% increase compared to Pumpdotfun's $15 million. Bonkfun also captured over 13% market share, outperforming other individual launchpads, and surpassed Ethereum in weekly revenue for the meme token sector. For four consecutive weeks, Bonkfun led in weekly revenue, token launches, graduations, and active addresses. However, in early August 2025, Pumpdotfun mounted a recovery, reclaiming the top spot in 24-hour Solana memecoin launchpad volume, surpassing Bonkfun and LetsBonkfun in market share and volume. By August 6, Pumpdotfun held 45.9% market share compared to LetsBonkfun's 42.3%, and overtook Bonkfun in 24-hour revenue for the first time since July 5. Pumpdotfun also led in key metrics such as volume, revenue, token launches, graduated tokens, and active addresses. Despite this resurgence, Bonkfun maintained a slight lead in bonded tokens and number of traders. Additionally, Bonkfun continued to execute token buybacks and burns, including a recent burn of 300 billion BONK tokens valued at approximately $7.61 million. The memecoin launchpad competition on Solana remains dynamic, with Pumpdotfun and Bonkfun trading leadership positions in volume and revenue.
