America Movil, the telecommunications company owned by billionaire Carlos Slim, reported a net income of 22.28 billion Mexican pesos for the second quarter of 2025, falling short of analyst expectations of 29.27 billion pesos. The company experienced over one million prepaid subscriber disconnections during the quarter. The profit was partly driven by foreign exchange gains. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, also owned by Slim, disclosed that Pemex owes more than 700 million US dollars for drilling contracts, with some payments delayed by up to two years. As of March 31, 2025, Pemex's total debt to suppliers stood at 404 billion pesos.
