China's Commerce Minister recently held talks with Saudi Arabia's Investment Minister, emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation in energy and capital markets as Beijing seeks Gulf support for a trade deal. Business leaders from both countries are exploring deeper partnerships to increase bilateral trade. Meanwhile, China plans to introduce new policies in September aimed at expanding service consumption and promoting the export of services, with a focus on optimizing taxation and financial facilitation. The Chinese government also announced that local government debt issuance in July reached 703.2 billion yuan, with net special bond issuance at 616.9 billion yuan. Urban development is a priority, with goals to significantly boost city development by 2030, encourage diverse funding sources for urban projects, improve flood drainage and disaster prevention systems, and tighten oversight of energy-intensive and emission-heavy projects to address environmental concerns. Additionally, China plans to increase elderly care services, enhance childcare systems, and control new hidden debts of local governments. Cooperation with Canada is also being explored to boost economic and trade relations.
