A senior European Union official said a humanitarian-access agreement with Israel for the Gaza Strip is now being implemented, allowing fuel deliveries to resume and reopening overland routes through Egypt and Jordan. The official reported a rising number of aid trucks entering Gaza and the start of repairs to key infrastructure under the terms of the accord, which was negotiated to ease shortages of food, medicine and energy in the enclave. Despite the progress, the EU cautioned that conditions inside Gaza remain “critically severe,” underscoring the need for continued cooperation and an expansion of relief efforts.
