France has announced its readiness to assist in securing food distribution in Gaza amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stated that France, alongside Europe, is prepared to contribute to the safety of food aid deliveries in the Palestinian territory. In addition to this security role, France will commence air-dropping humanitarian aid over Gaza starting Friday, August 1, 2025. The initial operation involves four flights departing from Jordan, each carrying approximately 10 tons of aid, totaling 40 tons. This aid aims to address the most essential and urgent needs of Gaza's civilian population. Other European countries, including Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Spain, have pledged their support for these efforts. However, some non-governmental organizations have expressed concerns regarding the safety of the air-drop method. The French government emphasized that these measures are critical in response to warnings from United Nations experts about the worsening food insecurity and potential famine in Gaza.
