The statement also opposed any demographic changes in the occupied Palestinian territories and rejected efforts to impose Israeli sovereignty there. Israel's foreign ministry responded by dismissing the statement as disconnected from reality and accused it of sending the wrong message to Hamas. The coalition emphasized the urgent need to prevent a looming mass famine in Gaza and called for the lifting of all restrictions to allow unimpeded humanitarian aid access.
