The Gaza Ministry of Health has reported a continuing humanitarian crisis marked by famine and malnutrition, with the death toll reaching 273 people, including 112 children, as of August 22, 2025. In the past 24 hours, eight new deaths due to malnutrition were recorded. The acute shortage of food and medicine persists amid an ongoing Israeli blockade that hampers humanitarian aid efforts. Additionally, Israeli military actions have resulted in numerous casualties: since dawn on August 23, at least 35 Palestinians have been killed in various airstrikes across southern and central Gaza, including 12 people—mostly children and women—in a targeted attack on displaced persons' tents in Khan Younis. Among the victims are 11 individuals who were waiting for aid.
