The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are advancing to the next phase of their Gaza offensive, with a particular focus on Gaza City, according to Israeli army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. The military operation, known as "Operation Gideon Vehicles," is at a critical juncture as the IDF intensifies efforts to target Hamas infrastructure both above and below ground. Recent clashes in Khan Yunis involved an IDF Merkava tank neutralizing Hamas militants, including an incident where a militant armed with an RPG was run over by the tank. The IDF reported dismantling rocket launch sites in Deir al-Balah and destroying mortar posts used against Israeli forces, while also eliminating militants in Gaza City, Jabalia, and Khan Yunis. Zamir indicated that the battle is ongoing and that the IDF plans to expand its activities across Gaza in the coming days. Additionally, Zamir recently conducted a field visit in the West Bank to assess security conditions.
