
US vertical farming startup Plenty Unlimited is forming a joint venture with Mawarid, a subsidiary of UAE's Alpha Dhabi Holding, in a $680 million deal. The partnership aims to develop a network of indoor farms in the Middle East, a region that imports a majority of its food requirements. The companies announced the joint venture to expand Plenty's vertical farming operations and address food security challenges in the region.
