Fort Worth Starts City-Run Bitcoin Mining in US First

Fort Worth, Texas, has begun operating three Bitcoin mining rigs inside City Hall, becoming the first municipality in the United States to run its own cryptocurrency mining operation. The equipment is scheduled to run around the clock for a six-month pilot period. City officials say the project is intended to familiarize the local government with blockchain technology while testing whether small-scale, city-owned mining can be run efficiently.
