San Francisco Giants right-hander Landen Roupp was removed from Petco Park on a cart after a line drive off the bat of San Diego Padres outfielder Ramón Laureano struck the back of his right thigh and caused his left knee to buckle in the third inning on Wednesday night. The 26-year-old rookie remained on the ground for several minutes before trainers stabilized the leg and transported him for further evaluation. The club said Roupp suffered an apparent left knee injury; additional tests are pending. Joey Lucchesi replaced Roupp and immediately surrendered a three-run homer to Gavin Sheets, extending San Diego’s lead to 6–0. The Padres went on to win 8–1, handing the Giants their fourth loss in six games.

Horrible for Landon Roupp, hopefully he will be okay but doesn’t look great for the #SFGiants pitcher https://t.co/fimdTZP5dP
