San Diego Padres outfielder Ramón Laureano kept the game scoreless in the top of the fourth inning on Saturday night with a leaping catch at the right-center-field wall that denied the Los Angeles Dodgers a potential grand slam. Three innings later, catcher Elías Díaz broke the deadlock, driving a two-run homer to left off Dodgers starter Bobby Miller to put San Diego ahead 2–1 at Petco Park. The National League West rivals entered the contest separated by four games in the division standings. Saturday’s matchup remained in progress at press time.
