Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton left Wednesday night’s game after being struck on the left hand by a pitch in the first inning. Although he remained in the game long enough to steal second base and score, the Twins later removed him and diagnosed the injury as a left-hand contusion. Rookie infielder Brooks Lee entered the lineup in Buxton’s spot for his next scheduled at-bat. The club did not immediately indicate whether Buxton would undergo further imaging or miss additional time.
