Warner Bros.’ latest superhero reboot, “Superman,” generated an estimated $5.29 million at North American theatres over the weekend, lifting its domestic total to $340.9 million after six weeks in release. Overseas ticket sales reached $253.6 million, bringing global receipts to roughly $594.5 million against a production budget of about $225 million. The studio’s racing drama “F1: The Movie,” co-financed and marketed with Apple, took in an estimated $2.66 million domestically, down 9% from the prior frame, for a North American haul of $182.8 million. International earnings rose to $407.2 million, pushing worldwide revenue to $590 million on a reported $200 million budget. The film will become available on major digital platforms on 22 August, two months after its theatrical debut. Both releases continue to demonstrate staying power late in the summer season, with each expected to cross the $600 million global mark in the coming week, although industry trackers see limited runway for either title to challenge the $700 million threshold.
