Among other holdovers, Disney’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” earned $532,000 on Wednesday for a $259.3 million domestic cume, while Universal’s “Jurassic World Rebirth” reached $336.3 million in North America after a $188,000 mid-week haul. Universal/DreamWorks Animation’s “The Bad Guys 2” sits at $67.9 million domestically, and Disney’s “Freakier Friday” is at $73.2 million. Paramount’s reboot of “The Naked Gun” has grossed $48.7 million, and Focus Features’ thriller “Honey Don’t!” stands at $4 million. Exhibition schedules for the upcoming U.S. Labor Day frame show Disney/Searchlight’s “The Roses” set to open in 2,700 locations, Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” in 2,440, and Universal’s 50th-anniversary re-issue of “Jaws” in 3,200 theatres. Looking further ahead, Disney’s filmed-stage presentation of “Hamilton” is tracking for about 1,600 sites next weekend, while Warner Bros.’ horror sequel “The Conjuring: Last Rites” is expected to debut on more than 3,500 screens.
