Burnet County officials have recovered the body of Bill Venus, who was swept away by floodwaters in Hamilton Creek while driving on Highway 281 during severe flooding on July 4th weekend. A teenage girl who was also missing has been found dead. The search continues for Michael Phillips, the Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Chief, who went missing while responding to a call and assisting others to safety during the floods. Phillips was last seen Saturday in Cow Creek after being swept away by floodwaters during a rescue attempt. As of July 8, the search for Phillips has entered its fourth day with crews actively looking for the last person unaccounted for from the Burnet County floods.
