On August 26, 2025, the National Weather Service issued multiple flash flood warnings across parts of Nevada and California due to heavy rainfall. Areas under warning included Floriston, California, and several counties in Nevada such as Lyon, Storey, Patrick, and Virginia City. The warnings were active until various times in the late afternoon and early evening, with Floriston's warning lasting until 5:00 PM PDT and Virginia City's until 6:45 PM PDT. Southeastern Clark County, including the Las Vegas Valley, also received flash flood warnings and a flood advisory amid severe thunderstorm conditions.
