A series of wildfires have been affecting Northern California's wine country and Central Oregon since late August 2025, prompting thousands of evacuation orders and warnings. The wildfire in California has grown to more than 6,500 acres, threatening homes but sparing some of the state's most famous vineyards. In Central Oregon, the wildfire has destroyed at least four homes and ten structures in total, with thousands more homes at risk. Firefighters have been battling the blazes on the ground and from the air amid dry, hot weather and challenging terrain. Efforts to contain the fires have been ongoing, with authorities reporting that the Oregon wildfire was starting to stabilize by late August. Despite the containment progress, the fires have only been controlled at approximately 13%. The situation remains serious as crews continue to work to protect homes and prevent further destruction.
