Amazon’s Prime Video has hired recently retired five-time NBA All-Star John Wall as an analyst for its new “NBA on Prime” coverage, the company said Wednesday. The appointment comes one day after the 34-year-old guard announced the end of an 11-season playing career highlighted by five All-Star selections with the Washington Wizards. Wall will appear primarily in the studio when Prime Video launches its 11-year national rights package on Oct. 24, joining a roster that already features Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade and Stan Van Gundy. The move underscores Amazon’s push to add recognizable former players as it competes with traditional networks for basketball viewers.
