Video-game publisher 2K Sports has selected Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese as the cover athlete for the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition, making the 23-year-old just the latest player to front a dedicated women’s version of the best-selling basketball title. The artwork unveils Reese’s first signature sneaker with Reebok, the Angel Reese 1, expanding a partnership she struck with the brand in 2023 when Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal became head of Reebok Basketball. “Being on the cover … is a statement,” Reese said in a release issued with the announcement. Drafted seventh overall in 2024, the two-time All-Star led the league in total rebounds as a rookie and is averaging 12.6 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists through 17 games this season. Her selection follows previous WNBA covers featuring Candace Parker, Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson. Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will appear on the standard NBA 2K26 cover. Pre-orders for all editions opened Wednesday ahead of the game’s planned autumn launch.
