The Memphis Grizzlies have reached agreement with free-agent center Jock Landale on a veteran-minimum contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal gives Memphis an experienced reserve as the club reshapes its frontcourt. Memphis opened a roster spot by sending backup big man Jay Huff to the Indiana Pacers earlier this week. Projected starters Jaren Jackson Jr. and rookie Zach Edey are both entering training camp recovering from offseason foot and ankle surgeries, respectively, heightening the need for additional depth. Landale, 28, averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.9 minutes for the Houston Rockets last season before being waived in June. He is represented by agent Sammy Wloszczowski of SIG Sports.
