After departure of Myles Turner, Pacers trade for the 7-foot-1 Huff, who averaged 6.9 points, 2 rebounds and nearly 1 block in 11.7 minutes per night. He shot 41% from 3-point range last season, playing in 64 games after just a total of 31 contests in his first three seasons. https://t.co/tohONrHMQy
The Indiana Pacers have agreed to acquire center Jay Huff from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for a 2029 Portland Trail Blazers second-round pick and the right to swap 2031 second-round selections, according to multiple league sources. Huff, 25, gives Indiana a cost-controlled front-court option after the free-agency departure of long-time starter Myles Turner. The 7-foot-1 stretch big averaged 6.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and nearly one block in 11.7 minutes across 64 games last season while converting 41% of his three-point attempts. For Memphis, the move creates additional salary-cap flexibility as the club weighs a renegotiate-and-extend deal for forward Jaren Jackson Jr. Indiana, meanwhile, will pair Huff with Isaiah Jackson and Tony Bradley as it shifts to a center-by-committee approach for the 2025-26 campaign.
