The National Collegiate Athletic Association said Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Stan Wilcox will retire on Aug. 1, capping a seven-year stint at the organization’s Indianapolis headquarters. Wilcox joined the NCAA in October 2018 after serving as Florida State University’s athletic director and vice president. At the national office he has overseen academic and membership affairs, the Eligibility Center and enforcement operations, functions that shape compliance for more than 1,100 member institutions. NCAA President Charlie Baker thanked Wilcox for extending his tenure to help steer the association through a period of rapid change in Division I athletics. Wilcox’s departure follows several other senior exits, including longtime executive Kevin Lennon, underscoring the leadership turnover Baker faces as he recalibrates the governing body amid ongoing legal, commercial and governance pressures on college sports.
Another notable retirement at NCAA HQ: VP of Regulatory Affairs Stan Wilcox will retire effective Aug. 1. Wilcox has worked at the national office the last seven years after serving as AD at Florida State. That news comes after longtime staffer Kevin Lennon announced last
