Dutch art detective Arthur Brand has recovered a priceless collection of stolen historical documents dating from the 15th to the 19th century. The trove includes several UNESCO-listed archives related to the Dutch East India Company (VOC), the world's first multinational corporation. These documents were missing for about a decade before being found in a Dutch attic, where they had been taken by a government official who used them to settle a debt. Among the recovered items are important VOC records such as the logbook of Michiel de Ruyter. The recovered archives have been returned to the Nationaal Archief in the Netherlands.
