Trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) was suspended for an hour on April 7, 2025, after the KSE-100 index fell by over 5%. This decline was attributed to the impact of tariffs announced by former President Donald Trump, which sparked volatility in international markets. Following the trading halt, the KSE-100 index closed down 3.27%, reflecting broader concerns about potential global recession stemming from these tariffs. The index had initially dropped more than 8,000 points during the trading session, prompting the temporary suspension of trading activities.
