Poland’s Digital Affairs Ministry said it will no longer finance Starlink satellite-internet service for Ukraine after the country’s new president vetoed legislation that would have extended assistance to Ukrainians living in Poland. The ministry’s spokesperson told reporters on Monday that funding will cease in October, forcing Kyiv to find alternative arrangements to keep the service operating on the front lines. Ukrainian officials confirmed they have begun talks with Starlink representatives and other potential backers to avert a disruption. The Polish minister for digital affairs criticised the veto as a “gift” to Russian forces, arguing that uninterrupted connectivity is vital to Ukraine’s military and civilian communications.
